Neelam Vats

Neelam has been in the legal professional since 2000 and has extensive experience working with both Indian and foreign companies, as well as with government authorities. She has handled diverse clientele and is rendering legal and regulatory advisory on transactions as well as on day to day management matters.

Neelam is also empanelled with the Punjab National Bank and is involved in debt restructuring, one time settlements with the companies in liquidation or under BIFR or in debt recovery tribunals or undergoing financial stress.

Neelam heads Legal Orbit's M&A, Project Finance and Power sector practice. She has been involved in developing negotiation strategies and lead teams to close complex contractual issues (limitation of liability and indemnities, risks and mitigations (including delivery risks), representations and warranties and survival thereof, indemnities, termination rights, delays, liquidated damages/ penalties, contingent liabilities, dead-locks, exit mechanisms, participative vs protective rights, non-compete/ non-solicitation, return on investment etc.

Neelam’s skills set includes a deep transactional understanding as well as significant industry expertise across industries as diverse as manufacturing, media, medical devices, power, technology, telecommunications, engineering, infrastructure, hospitality and financial services combined with her distinguished negotiation skills.

In the past she has worked with the industry leaders including IBM India and Luthra & Luthra, Law Offices.

Mohit Sharma

Mohit has been in the legal professional since 2004 and has extensive experience in corporate commercial transactions.

Mohit has advised Indian companies, foreign companies and Indian government authorities. His specialization is in the field of corporate and regulatory laws, in particular joint ventures, investments and transaction structuring. He also advises clients on general corporate matters.

Before moving to Legal Orbit, he was working as a partner with Clasis Law, an Indian law firm. Before that Mohit worked with some of the leading Indian law firms including Luthra & Luthra and Fox Mandal.

Mohit has advised clients in various sectors including retail sector, media, real estate, telecom, infrastructure, hospitality, power, manufacturing, education, retail and information technology.

Navin Kumar
Off Counsel

Navin Kumar has unique experience of advising and representing clients for the past twenty-two (22) years in litigation matters, international and domestic arbitrations relating to areas like construction of oil and gas platforms, construction of highways and runways for airports, laying of land and sub-sea oil and gas pipelines, horizontal drilling across riverbeds, civil construction contracts, installation of fertilizer plants, FIDIC contracts, engineering contracts, power projects, sale of goods, joint ventures, transfer of technology and know-how agreements, determination and fixation of tariff for electricity and gas supply before the concerned government authorities, etc. He has been involved with the various facets of Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms and its application, including pre-arbitration advise, contractual advise and claim analysis. He has also successfully handled a number of high-stake international arbitrations before ICC and SIAC Tribunals, and implementation of the Arbitral Awards in these matters within and outside India.

In addition to above, Navin has also been handling and representing clients in proceedings in Court all over India under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. Such proceedings include enforcement of Arbitral Awards, including Foreign Awards/ Arbitration Agreements between contracting parries, as well as applications for grant of interim measures and protection to parties to arbitration agreements, applications for the constitution of the Arbitral Panel, etc.

Apart from advising clients in active arbitration proceedings before various forum and Tribunals, Navin Kumar has also been advising clients on the initiation and conduct of ‘conciliation proceedings’ under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 and on the enforcement of the decision rendered by the Conciliator subsequent to such conciliation proceedings. He has also been involved in ‘mediation proceedings’ whereby the disputes have either been settled between the parties outside the purview of court or arbitral tribunal, or Consent Awards are obtained from the Arbitral Panel.

At present Navin Kumar is handling around 25-30 arbitration matters both domestic as well as international.

Bhupender Sharma
Associate Partner

After completing Bachlors’ Degree in Commerce from Hansraj College, Bhupender did LL.B. from Delhi University in the year 2006. Bhupender is enrolled as an Advocate with Bar Council of Delhi and is a member of Delhi High Court Bar Association. He specialize in drafting and review of various business agreements viz. Joint Development Agreements, Service Agreement, Marketing Agreement, Software/ Hardware Transaction Agreements, Outsourcing Agreements, Lease Deeds and other business agreements. He also has considerable experience in corporate advisory aervices and currently assisting various corporate clients in drafting and negotiating contracts for various projects and financing documents. Bhupender has been actively representing clients before various forums including office of Registrar of Trademark and Patents, Company Law Board etc. in matters pertaining to commercial matters, registration and infringement matters of trademarks.

In the past he has worked with NDLO, Law Offices.

Surbhi Agarwal

After completing her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, Surbhi acquired her LL.B. degree in the year 2006 from Delhi University and is enrolled with Bar Council of Delhi since then. Surbhi has represented clients before Hon’ble High Court of Delhi both on original as well as appellate side and before various other commissions and authorities. She also has experience in representing clients in arbitration matters involving contractual disputes in areas of power purchase agreements, construction contracts, supply and installation agreements.. She specializes in drafting of plaints, statement of claim, written statements, various applications, cease and desist notice, recovery notice etc.

In the past she has worked with ILF Advocates and Indus Legal.

Neha Saraswat
Associate Parnter

Neha has been in the legal professional since 2004 and has extensive experience in intellectual property related matters/transactions.

Neha advises clients on cross border Intellectual Property issues such as registration of patents, trademarks, designs, IP litigation, brand protection, and IPR Due Diligence related matters. She has successfully supervised anti-counterfeit raids across several states in India. Neha also represents and argues before Indian courts and authorities such as Trade Marks Registry and IP tribunals on IP related matters.
